If you plan to go to Italy, instead of а conventional hotel room, here is an interesting alternative: Town@HouseStreet offers you to rent a studio in the heart of Milan. The idea is both simple and ingenious. The architect Simone Micheli transfomered mini shops (approximately 35 m2 each), which are decayed, so their owners offer them for rent.
Each studio (called PHS – Permanent Hospitality Space) is designed by Micheli with joyful flashy colored custom made furniture, giant-sized photos on the walls and a light sophisticated atmosphere. Not to mention the little extras like a round bath with rain shower in the double suite. Everything you need, you can find in the studio – integrated kitchen, a desk, a bathroom, a dressing room and a giant bed!
Beyond the interior, the peculiarity of these studios is that they are independent and are all on ground floor with direct access to the street – the idea is to merge with the urban atmosphere. That is pretty amazing for a concept hotel.
The 4 studios are named by color (red, yellow, orange and green) and can be distinguished according to the dominant tone of the ambience of each place.
