Madonna’s Home in Manhattan, Designed by Her Brother
Tue, Mar 16, 2010
Everyone knows Madonna, but not everyone knows her brother Christopher Ciccone, who is a designer. And if you want to know where the singer rests, this is her house in Manhattan, created by Christopher.
The current suite incorporates three separate apartments, bought by the singer in various stages of her life. The first became property of Madonna and her ex-husband Sean Penn. She bought the second, shortly after the divorce. The third, where currently are second living room and bathroom, was purchased last. Apparently the buildings in the neighborhood have done.
During the work on the interior Christopher constantly talks with Madonna and transmits her instructions to the architect Steven Wang from Procter and Wang, who turns them into reality. Christopher determines the style of the finished house as “A classic early Art Deco”. They kept most of the original features of the spacious building from 1915. Among them are the arches of the ceilings and fireplaces. The interior is full of retro furniture like a dining table from 1930, ebony side table in the living room by Jean Pasco and armchairs by Southern Prince.
